James Graham Scott (1826-1884) of Hillsborough, NC, entered the University in 1840, was a member of the Philanthropic Society, and received his BA in 1844. He became a lawyer and politician, serving in both the NC Senate (1868-70 and 1872-24) and the House of Commons (1870-72).
